Coffee & Covid: LIARS AND FRAUDS

Good morning, C&C, and happy Saturday! Welcome to the weekend edition, with a delightful little roundup: the public health establishment’s latest fraud is exposed; I need some ideas from you guys; Business Insider reveals the US’s crazy mRNA plans for young kids; Biden is losing at chess with Putin; and DeSantis unveils a brilliant new initiative.

🪖 OPERATION MULTIPLIER UPDATE: The founder of Operation Multiplier, Leslie Manookian, who was responsible for putting together the lawsuit that ended airplane masks, and whose group was multiplied this week by C&C by nearly $120,000, made us a very sweet and optimistic thank you video (02:32):

I appreciated and accepted Leslie’s thanks on behalf of the Army, and hope her other lawsuits are just as effective, but getting her gratitude was not why we did it. It’s about the mission. The jab mandates still hang over us like a thousand hypos dangling from fishing lines, needle tips pointed down at our heads. Maybe one of Leslie’s other cases will help put a permanent end to one or more of the mandates — you never know.

The sharp point of Operation Multiplier is to multiply: we want to multiply Leslie both directly but also indirectly; to multiply her directly by fueling more lawsuits, and to multiply her indirectly by encouraging others like Leslie to get in the fight. We multiply our individual efforts to create something much bigger than the additive sum of our individual donations.

In other words, here at Coffee & Covid, we don’t just TALK about the problems. We’re now part of the solution, nationally. How does that feel? It feels pretty good to me.

🪖 The comments! The comment you guys are posting, both on Facebook and even more so on Substack, are almost more entertaining than my original posts. I do my best, but I rarely get the chance to read them all. Still, they’re so much fun that I’m thinking of changing the tagline to: “come for the coffee and the snark; stay for the comments.”

🔥 As if we needed any more evidence, another sidesplitting story illustrating the epic failures of the public health establishment bubbled up out of the corporate media quagmire this week. It begins with a lawyer-turned-journalist like me, Sarah Beth Burwick, who investigated one of the insects from the pestilent hive of covid experts who’ve infested twitter, instagram, and TikTok, and who, like the Queen of Hearts, have been merrily condemning everyone questioning the official narrative, from their cushy self-appointed expert thrones.

The “expert” in question was Risa Hoshino, MD, who spent most of the pandemic online touting herself as an exhausted frontline health care worker, public health and virus-science expert, and social media warrior. Right up until this month, she has been constantly posting alarming covid fear porn like this March 24th bon mot: “Not sure how someone can tell me to my face that ‘covid is over’ as I stand there in my scrubs, N95 & face shield, exhausted from treating all the covid+ patients who are either severely ill or have long covid. Unless you’re us, you’ll never get it. #stopthegaslighting.”

She’s often tweeted about the struggles of wearing an N95 mask for 12-hour shifts, and recited countless heartbreaking stories of sick and dying children in her ICU. Along with selflessly toiling away in the covid death wards, and telling everyone else to shut up and take the jabs, she also likes posting pics of herself in bikini outfits, and being out to swanky dinners with friends — a happy, perky wokescold who has it all.

But it turned out there was a problem, a big fat non-perky unhappy kind of problem, and attorney Sarah Beth Burwick finally dug to the bottom of it. The problem was, Hoshino wasn’t a frontline covid doctor. Not at all. Instead, she held a cushy job as a New York City SCHOOL pediatrician, who mostly WORKED REMOTELY FROM HOME during the pandemic.

Not in the ER. Not in the ICU. Not in the Covid ward.

Hahahahah! Of COURSE! Of course it was all a fraud.

And now Sarah Beth’s exposé has gone mainstream. The UK Daily Mail ran an article about Hoshino yesterday headlined, “REVEALED: NYC medic who became star tweeting about working on COVID frontline treating kids in hospital is actually a SCHOOL pediatrician with cushy 9-5 job.”

Which explains a lot about how Hoshino had so much time to tweet and go to the beach and make Instagrams and TikTok videos while she was supposedly masked-up working 12-hour shifts in the ER trying to save children’s lives.

All this would be just another example of leftist maniacs proving once again that truth is the least of the left’s concerns, except that Dr. Risa Hoshino was lauded on many top physician influencer lists, meaning that lots of doctors and terrified liberals were taking pandemic directions from her, and weaponizing her posts to squelch opposing online opinions. According to Burwick, Medical Marketing + Media dubbed her one of “The top 12 physician influencers” on that platform. Beckers HR called her a “top 10 physician influencer” and The Scientist lauded her as “a veteran of using social media to debunk scientific falsehoods.”

In other words, the PUBLIC HEALTH ESTABLISHMENT itself promoted Hoshino’s lies.

I don’t believe they were blinded by Hoshino’s sexy gloss, not for a hot second. THEY’RE ALL LIARS. I say this with all the conviction of a litigating attorney. It’s just not credible that they fell for Hoshino’s deception for two years. They all know each other. They all jockey for position at the top, like in every industry. They can all pick up the phone anytime. AND THEY MUST HAVE. They KNEW Hoshino was a fraud but they platformed her and pushed her nonsense anyway.

This is what the Public Health Industry calls “science.” Remember that.

The evidence suggests Hoshino is mentally ill. She was busy harming herself along with the rest of us; her deception couldn’t last forever, and the bigger the lie got, the worse the final accounting would be. Her mental illness should have been immediately identified and treated, if the system worked AT ALL, if the public health industry gave a single damn about its integrity.

Instead, the Public Health Experts promoted and platformed Hoshino into a position where her mental illness could inflict maximum damage on our country. Absent the imprimatur of the official endorsements and promotions, Hoshino would have quickly been exposed and she’d have rapidly faded into Twitter oblivion along with the other wacky trolls who infest that platform.

An alternative hypothesis that I can’t rule out is that the entire public health establishment itself is mentally ill. Dangerous morons or escaped high-functioning mental patients pretending to be doctors, take your pick.

Either way, it’s become painfully obvious that we need to dismantle the ENTIRE public health establishment and start over from scratch, maybe putting in charge the meagre handful of proven, rational experts like Martin Kulldorff, Jay Bhattacharya, and Sunetra Gupta.

The embarrassing and sordid Hoshino story is a metaphor. Just as Hoshino was a fraud, so was the WHOLE THING. It’s lies, exaggerations, and deceptions, top to bottom.

If you want to read more about Hoshino, and there IS more, a LOT more, start with heroic lawyer Sarah Beth Burwick, who broke the story:

And to Sarah Beth, if you read this: I noted that your public records request went unanswered, for some reason. Let’s sue the New York Department of Public Health to get the records! Think about what a great complaint we could draft. I’m in if you want help. Call my office. I’m not kidding. Let’s hoist them on their own hypodermic.

🔥 I’m thinking of writing a major op-ed piece for a national publication. The topic is: what should the public health establishment do to start rebuilding public trust? For some reason I’m having trouble coming up with ideas. If you’d like to help, post your suggestions in the comments.

“A good name is to be more desired than great wealth[.]” Proverbs 22:1a.

💉 As the FDA races to approve the jabs for younger and younger kids, Business Insider ran an unintentionally revealing article last week headlined, “The 7 Countries Where Kids Under 5 Years Old Are Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccines, and How the Roll-Outs Are Shaping Up.”

Business Insider’s article is a happy puff piece implying that the FDA is following a trend of some kind, a worldwide movement to vaccinate very young children, and since it’s working in all these other countries, it should be safe for our young kids too. It walks through the seven other countries where jabs are approved for kids under 5: China, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Chile, Argentina, Cuba, and Venezuela.

Well, first of all, that’s not exactly an impressive list. I’m not saying those countries are all Trumpian third world you-know-what-holes, but come on. We’re supposed to copy Cuba and Venezuela? For real?

But it’s the second point that’s a killer. NONE OF THE OTHER COUNTRIES ARE USING MRNA INJECTIONS. According to BI’s article, China, Hong Kong, Bahrain, Argentina and Chile are using China’s Sinovac vaccine. Cuba and Venezuela are giving a home-brewed vaccine called Soberana. Sinovac and Soberana are traditional attenuated-virus vaccines like the measles and smallpox vaccines.

In other words, no other country in the world except for the US has approved mRNA jabs for young kids. Given the high rates of cardiac adverse events, it’s not hard to guess why. Even our own vaccine committee failed to recommend the mRNA shots for young kids. But we’re doing it anyway. Because science! Shut up!

Since the communist-world attenuated-virus vaccines count as being “fully vaccinated,” it seems it’s mostly the Western countries that are going to be all loaded up with genetic spike protein-making mutations based on the original Chinese spike formula. Weird.

📉 I reported yesterday about Biden’s disastrous management of the economy resulting in an appalling drop in U.S. GDP growth, which fell from +6.9 percent last quarter to negative -1.4 percent this quarter. Biden and his minions have repeatedly claimed that the poor economy is a sacrifice that we must all collectively make in order to teach that rascal Putin a lesson he won’t forget and free the heroic Ukrainian resistance fighters.

For example, oil sanctions against Russia have ballooned US oil prices, driving price hikes for virtually every other product, too. Following directly from his policy decisions, Biden euphemistically calls the massive inflation “Putin’s price hike.”

But guess what? Russia’s financial report is out now. While ours dropped a massive combined -8.3%, the report shows Russia’s economy grew at almost +3.7% last quarter.

Great job Joe! This hardly needs saying, but I don’t think Joe Biden needs to be playing economic chess with Vladimir Putin. For obvious reasons. Painfully obvious reasons. If we want to help Ukraine, maybe we should stop destroying our own economy by building up Russia’s.

“The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.” Psalms 9:15.

🔥 Yesterday I attended a DeSantis press briefing in Williston, Florida, where the Governor announced Florida’s historic giant budget surplus along with his brilliant new initiative to fund Florida’s rural communities. One county was noticeably absent from the long list of counties and cities in the area receiving grants: my lunatic county, Alachua, which maniacally declared political war on its own state government in March, 2020.

The moral of the story seems to be: insurrectionists don’t get grants. Smooth move, Alachua County.

The Governor also announced that he is ready and plans to sign a bill authorizing Constitutional carry in Florida, as soon as it is presented to him. Over 25 states now have Constitutional carry laws, another unnoticed side-effect and hidden blessing of the pandemic.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather! I’ll see you guys on Monday and we’ll kick off the week together with more Coffee & Covid.

Coffee & Covid: SHANGHAI’D

By Jeff Childers, 4/11/2022

Happy Monday C&C! I hope everyone had a blessed Palm Sunday, and we are now in the final approach to the most important Christian holiday of Easter — invoking the core Christian themes of rebirth and eternal life.

I have a terrific roundup for you today: lots on the unreported humanitarian crisis exploding in Shanghai; Musk backs off a board seat; more bad news for dems with significant defections and a faltering youth vote; Fauci says something remarkable; and the Times wants its reporters to stop tweeting and start reporting.

🔥 Last week, Shanghai, China went into hard lockdown, what lockdown-lovers call a “real” lockdown. Home to 25 million souls, Shanghai is China’s premier city, its version of New York City, the communist nation’s showcase of Chinese technology, architecture, and most importantly, government. Last week, after watching cases escalate since March 1, the government imposed a set of strict lockdown rules that by the end of the week involved the city’s residents being locked — in some cases literally — in their apartments, unable to leave even for food or water.

Water is a particularly pressing problem, since the tap water in Shanghai is not fit to drink even after boiling due to the presence of heavy metals. Food can only be obtained through a phone app. The system of private suppliers broke down after only a few days, not least because of limiting rules and per-delivery testing requirements for delivery staff, and so the government took over midstream with an entirely new smartphone-powered food-delivery system. All residents must pay for their food, which when it is delivered is almost never what was ordered, but appears to be only what is available.

The lockdown rules are being enforced by soldiers from the ironically-named People’s Liberation Army, gangs of red-shirted “volunteers” who act more like roving brigands, and dystopian technology like drones with facial recognition that dock residents’ social credit scores and debit their bank accounts when residents are caught out on their balconies.

Widespread reports from Shanghai strongly suggest that large numbers of people are unable to reliably obtain food and water. In addition to being locked into their homes — in some cases physically locked in their buildings — residents are forced to exit whenever ordered for mandatory Covid testing. Those who test positive, including babies as young as one or two months old, are sent to prison-like quarantine facilities. Parents aren’t allowed to go with their quarantined children, no matter how young the child or infant might be.

Later in the week the government began seizing household pets, cats and dogs, summarily euthanizing animals whose owners are found Covid positive.

One horrifying video shows a poorly-trained government agent administering a Covid test to an infant, apparently penetrating the nasal cavity with the test stick too far, and the infant immediately dies. Other videos show government agents beating small dogs to death with their owners crying out for them to stop from behind locked apartment building doors. Another viral video showed sacks of house cats thrown into a garbage pile on the sidewalk, with many of the cats obviously still alive, struggling to move as best they could and mewing plaintively.

Shanghai residents are literally begging for food online. In this harrowing video, they can be heard screaming out of their windows:

Not just residents. US Marines. Yesterday, Reuters ran a story headlined, “U.S. Consulate Staff in China Help Marines Running Low on Rations.” According to Reuters, a U.S. consulate employee — acting in their individual capacity — posted this message to WeChat, the Chinese version of Facebook: “Marines have depleted their food and can no longer get delivery. I know we are all running short on supplies. If you can spare a meal’s worth or two for 7 extra mouths, they’d be very appreciative.”

(Staff responded with supplies, a person said in a later post, adding, “The marines are beyond thankful.”)

If US military personnel can’t get food, imagine what it must be like for an ordinary Shanghai resident.

But our revolting corporate media has — for some reason — completely blacked out the unfolding humanitarian disaster in Shanghai. All the news about what is really going on there comes from residents, including Americans and other foreigners. What little reporting our “gold standard” media has done only mentions the lockdowns generally, and unquestioningly repeats what looks very much like Chinese government propaganda.

For just one example, here is a picture in this morning’s Wall Street Journal, from an article bragging that Shanghai hasn’t reported any Covid deaths:

For Facebook users, who can’t see the picture, it shows a large semi-sized delivery truck in a street about 40 feet away from the back of a building. Between the truck and the building extend two lines of men in white hygiene suits, standing about a foot from each other, about 30 men in all. The men appear to be passing boxes of supplies down the line from the back of the truck into the building.

This is almost certainly a propaganda photo. You’ll get it instantly when I point it out to you.

Look again at what these dummies are up to. There’s PLENTY of room to back that truck up, right to the building’s rear entrance. THE ROAD GOES RIGHT UP TO THE DOOR. Hey morons, you don’t need 30 men. You only need TWO guys. But if the truck were backed up that far, then the government photographer wouldn’t have been able to get the money shot of all these resources being deployed to help the poor lockdown victims.

Shame on the Wall Street Journal. Shame on you. You’re complicit in helping a murderous communist regime cover up a massive human-rights violation and maybe a mass starvation event. You guys need to do a lot of personal reflection about where your lives and morals have gone off the rails.

Reuters, at least, in its article about the starving marines, mentions in passing that “many Shanghai residents have been waking at dawn to work the phones in the hope of securing food supplies from over-subscribed delivery apps.” But U.S. corporate media paints totally fake but rosier picture of a happy lockdown with a fast-paced successful Chinese government response. Total garbage.

Instead, we have to rely on anecdotal reports, like this resident’s courageous silent protest:

(Facebook users: someone pushed their barren fridge out onto their balcony and opened the doors creating a powerful symbol.)

For some reason, we have endless reports on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine, but simply silence on Shanghai. Why? Where are all the “I stand with Shanghai” memes? Where are the virtue signalers now? What is the difference?

China is obviously pulling out all the stops to prevent the truth on the ground in Shanghai from getting out. They’ve ordered their U.S. media agents not to talk about it, and are punishing residents who post about the problems on social media. But … what happens AFTER the lockdowns end? Won’t the surviving Shanghai residents talk then? Isn’t the truth going to come out eventually? Why hide it?

The only difference between us and the Chinese is a Constitution plus one extra Supreme Court justice. I am feeling extremely grateful for the Founding Fathers.

🔥 Twitter has announced that, after discussions with Elon Musk, he will NOT be joining the firm’s board of directors. Reporting on the story, the Daily Mail UK suggested one reason might be that joining the board would have stopped Musk from owning more than 14.9% of shares, raising speculation that he is planning a hostile takeover. We shall see.

Early this morning Musk tweeted an emoji of a smiling face, with a hand over its mouth, but then quickly deleted the tweet. Your guess is as good as mine.

🔥 Friday, Neiman Labs reported a story headlined, “The New York Times Would Really Like Its Reporters To Stop Scrolling And Get Off Twitter (At Least Once In A While).”

According to the story, NYT executive editor Dean Baquet sent a memo to staff that encouraged them to stop scrolling on twitter so much. “Tweet less, tweet more thoughtfully, and devote more time to reporting,” he explained.

This is a sort of policy change for the Times. In an interview about the memo, Baquet admitted that newsroom pressure to be on Twitter was real and significant. But in his new memo, Baquet asked reporters “to meaningfully reduce how much time you’re spending on the platform, tweeting or scrolling, in relation to other parts of your job.”

And, Baquet continued, reporters should “strengthen our commitment to treating information [on Twitter] with the journalistic skepticism that we would any source, story or critic.” Lol.

When interviewed about his memo, Baquet cited two main problems. The first was time. Employees should be reporting, not tweeting. Second, and more interesting, was feedback. “Twitter’s reaction to your coverage should not be the primary way you regard the success or failure of your coverage,” Baquet explained.

Good luck with that. All writers want to know what people think about their stories. I know this from personal experience.

🪳 Yesterday, in an interview with ABC’s This Week, psycho deep-state doctor Tony Fauci shocked reporters by saying it’s now up to Americans to make their OWN medical risk assessments. Imagine that. “This is not going to be eradicated, and it’s not going to be eliminated,” Fauci rambled during the interview.

“What’s going to happen is that we’re going to see that each individual is going to have to make their calculation of the amount of risk that they want to take,” the despised doctor allowed. “We’re at that point where in many respects … we’re going to have to live with some degree of virus in the community.”

Gosh. A revolution in science. And after all that safe and effective jabbing!

📉 More bad news for Covid restriction lovers! Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal ran a long article headlined, “School Reopening Mess Drives Frustrated Parents Toward GOP.” The sub-headline blames democrat party defections on Covid restrictions: “So disillusioned: Covid restrictions are weighing heavily for Democratic voters who say their party officials left mandates in place too long, with devastating consequences for their children.”

The article reports on a series of former lifelong democrats who admit they voted straight Republican in the last elections and plan to keep on doing it.

Just a couple years ago, Pelosi was confidently predicting that the democrat party was poised to finally achieve permanent party dominance. This article suggests she was WAY off. The Journal noted that “interviews with New Jersey voters revealed that some Democrats’ breaks from their party last fall were neither flippant nor fleeting.”

One of those interviewed was Gina Genovese, a longtime Democratic voter until November, when she cast her ballot for Governor Murphy’s unsuccessful Republican challenger. Ms. Genovese was the state’s first openly gay mayor in 2006 when she presided over Long Hill, N.J., as a Democrat.

But Genovese told the Journal that she was turned off by her party’s support for mask and vaccine mandates, which she viewed as violations of personal freedom. Last year, she helped pay for a lawsuit that tried to strike Governor Murphy’s school mask mandate. This year, she has repeatedly turned down fundraising requests from the Democratic Party. “Democrats have left me so disillusioned,” she said.

Ms. Genovese described herself as “far-left” on global warming and gay rights, and admitted it was a tough decision to support Republicans during the pandemic. But she said she would probably back Republican Thomas Kean for Congress this fall. “Everything is a balance,” she said.

Rachel Keane, a 35-year-old registered nurse and mother of two in West Orange, N.J., said she had never voted Republican until last fall, when she straight Republican on her ballot, right down the ticket. She admitted she was worried about what her liberal parents would think about her switch, but described her decision as an awakening. She had always supported democrats without a second thought, but her anger over the governor’s mask requirements for children made her question that loyalty.

“I knew I wasn’t going to vote for Murphy, but wasn’t sure if I was going to leave it blank or what,” Ms. Keane said. “Then I just got angry and in the back of my head I thought, ‘F— you!’ And I voted Republican all the way down the line.”

56-year-old teacher Donna Davis said she had been a lifelong Democratic voter until the pandemic, when the Republican push to keep the economy open made her more receptive to conservative candidates. When schools started mandating masks and pushing vaccines, she didn’t want to do either, or to return to the classroom, and thought her teaching days were over—until she heard about an alternative learning center defying the mandates. She also supported Gov. Murphy’s conservative challenger and plans to vote Republican this fall.

I told you in 2020 these local governments would eventually regret all the mandates. So.

Have a marvelous Monday, and I’ll see you back here tomorrow for more!

US Officials Admit They’re Literally Just Lying To The Public About Russia

By Caitlin Johnstone, 4/9/2022

NBC News has a new report out citing multiple anonymous US officials, humorously titled “In a break with the past, U.S. is using intel to fight an info war with Russia, even when the intel isn’t rock solid“.

The officials say the Biden administration has been rapidly pushing out “intelligence” about Russia’s plans in Ukraine that is “low-confidence” or “based more on analysis than hard evidence”, or even just plain false, in order to fight an information war against Putin.

The report says that toward this end the US government has deliberately circulated false or poorly evidenced claims about impending chemical weapons attacks, about Russian plans to orchestrate a false flag attack in the Donbass to justify an invasion, about Putin’s advisors misinforming him, and about Russia seeking arms supplies from China.

Excerpt, emphasis mine:

It was an attention-grabbing assertion that made headlines around the world: U.S. officials said they had indications suggesting Russia might be preparing to use chemical agents in Ukraine.

President Joe Biden later said it publicly. But three U.S. officials told NBC News this week there is no evidence Russia has brought any chemical weapons near Ukraine. They said the U.S. released the information to deter Russia from using the banned munitions.

It’s one of a string of examples of the Biden administration’s breaking with recent precedent by deploying declassified intelligence as part of an information war against Russia. The administration has done so even when the intelligence wasn’t rock solid, officials said, to keep Russian President Vladimir Putin off balance.

So they lied. They may hold that they lied for a noble reason, but they lied. They knowingly circulated information they had no reason to believe was true, and that lie was amplified by all the most influential media outlets in the western world.

Another example of the Biden administration releasing a false narrative as part of its “information war”:

Likewise, a charge that Russia had turned to China for potential military help lacked hard evidence, a European official and two U.S. officials said.

The U.S. officials said there are no indications China is considering providing weapons to Russia. The Biden administration put that out as a warning to China not to do so, they said.

On the empire’s claim last week that Putin is being misled by his advisors because they are afraid of telling him the truth, NBC reports that this assessment “wasn’t conclusive — based more on analysis than hard evidence.”

I’d actually made fun of this ridiculous CIA press release when it was uncritically published disguised as a breaking news report by The New York Times:

Twitter avatar for @caitozCaitlin Johnstone ⏳ @caitoz

Breaking News: The most influential newspaper in the English-speaking world routinely passes off CIA press releases as “Breaking News”.

The New York Times @nytimes

Breaking News: President Vladimir Putin’s advisers misinformed him about the Russian military’s struggles in Ukraine, according to U.S. intelligence.

We’d also had fun with State Department Spokesman Ned Price’s bizarre February impersonation of Alex Jones, where he wrongly claimed that Russia was about to release a “false flag” video using crisis actors to justify its invasion:

Other US government lies discussed in the NBC report were less cute:

In another disclosure, U.S. officials said one reason not to provide Ukraine with MiG fighter jets is that intelligence showed Russia would view the move as escalatory.

That was true, but it was also true of Stinger missiles, which the Biden administration did provide, two U.S. officials said, adding that the administration declassified the MiG information to bolster the argument not to provide them to Ukraine.

So the Biden administration knew it was sending weapons to Ukraine that would be perceived by a nuclear superpower as a provocative escalation, sent them anyway, and then lied about it. Cool, cool, cool.

This NBC report confirms rumors we’ve been hearing for months. Professional war slut Max Boot said via The Council on Foreign Relations think tank in February that the Biden administration had ushered in “a new era of info ops” with intelligence releases designed not to tell the truth but to influence Putin’s decisions. Former MI6 chief John Sawers told The Atlantic Council think tank in February that the Biden administration’s “intelligence” releases were based more on a general vibe than actual intelligence, and were designed to manipulate rather than to inform.

And in case you were wondering, no, NBC did not just publish a major leak by whistleblowers within the US government who are bravely exposing the lies of the powerful with the help of the free press. One of the article’s authors is Ken Dilanian, who in 2014 was revealed to have worked as a literal CIA asset while writing for The LA Times. If you see Dilanian’s name in a byline, you may be certain that you are reading exactly what the managers of the US empire want you to read.

So why are they telling us all this now? Is the US government not worried that it will lose the trust of the public by admitting that it is continuously lying about its most high-profile international conflict? And if this is an “information war” designed to “get inside Putin’s head” as NBC’s sources claim, wouldn’t openly reporting it through the mainstream press completely defeat the purpose?

Well, the answer to those questions is where it gets really creepy. I welcome everyone’s feedback and theories on the matter, but as near as I can figure the only reason the US government would release this story to the public is because they want the general public to know about it. And the only plausible reason I can think of that they would want the public to know about it is that they are confident the public will consent to being lied to.

To get a better sense of what I’m getting at, it helps to watch the televised version of this report in which Dilanian and NBC anchor Alison Morris enthuse about how brilliant and wonderful it is that the Biden administration is employing these psychological warfare tactics to mess with Putin’s mind:

The message an indoctrinated NBC viewer will get when watching this segment is, “Isn’t this awesome? Our president is pulling off all these cool 3D chess moves to beat Putin, and we’re kind of a part of it!”

It’s been obvious for a long time that the US empire has been working to shore up narrative control to strengthen its hegemonic domination of the planet via internet censorship, propaganda, Silicon Valley algorithm manipulation, and the normalization of the persecution of journalists. We may now simply be at the stage of imperial narrative control where they can begin openly manufacturing the consent of the public to be lied to for their own good.

Just as the smear campaign against Julian Assange trained mainstream liberals to defend the right of their government to keep dark secrets from them, we may now be looking at the stage of narrative control advancement where mainstream liberals are trained to defend the right of their government to lie to them.

The US is ramping up cold war aggressions against Russia and China in a desperate attempt to secure unipolar hegemony, and psychological warfare traditionally plays a major role in cold war maneuverings due to the inability to aggress in more overt ways against nuclear-armed foes. So now would definitely be the time to get the “thinkers” of America’s two mainstream political factions fanatically cheerleading their government’s psywar manipulations.

A casual glance around the internet at what mainstream liberals are saying about this NBC report shows that this is indeed what is happening. In liberal circles there does appear to be widespread acceptance of the world’s most powerful government using the world’s most powerful media institutions to lie to the public for strategic gains. If this continues to be accepted, it will make things a whole lot easier for the empire managers going forward.

Anatomy of the Hong Kong Disaster

Well, if you are still willing to follow, obey the ‘official narrative’ I’m not sure what to say… mrossol

Anatomy of the Hong Kong Disaster

Anatomy of the Hong Kong Disaster

Browstone Institute, By Ian Miller   March 19, 2022

It’s hard to believe that after two years of government policies completely failing to prevent the spread of COVID, there hasn’t been universal acceptance that attempting to control a highly infectious respiratory virus is nearly impossible.

Nearly every country that was once praised for their “response” to COVID has seen their numbers rise dramatically over time.

The mitigation commands — mask mandates, vaccine passports, mandatory vaccinations, lockdowns and lockdowns for the “unvaccinated” have all been disastrous blunders; hopeless flailing borne out of a desire to “do something” and to coerce desired behavior.

So it should come as no surprise that Hong Kong has joined the long list of jurisdictions to see their much praised policies collapse.

Equally unsurprising is that media and Twitter promoted experts have yet again ignored the ramifications of Hong Kong’s startling increases.

Media reports have consistently attempted to credit masking and other interventions with stopping COVID, but Hong Kong provides a brilliant example of premature celebration.

Back in May 2020, Vox published an article with the unequivocal headline: “How masks helped Hong Kong control the coronavirus,” with the subtitle “New research shows that universal mask-wearing may help slow the spread of Covid-19.”

The article contains so many misguided assumptions about the spread of COVID that it’s stunning to see it hasn’t been retracted, but it helpfully summarizes how often experts have seemingly been making it up as they go during the pandemic:

If any city in the world was likely to experience the worst effects of the coronavirus, Hong Kong would have been a top candidate. The urban area is densely populated and heavily reliant on packed public-transit systems, and it has very few open spaces. Moreover, a high-speed train connects Hong Kong to Wuhan, China, where the coronavirus originated.

Hong Kong, it seemed, was doomed.

But almost as soon as the outbreak first began in the city, millions of residents started wearing masks in public. One local told the Los Angeles Times that the government didn’t have to say anything before 99 percent of the population put them on.

Experts now say widespread mask usage appears to be a major reason, perhaps even the primary one, why the city hasn’t been devastated by the disease.

“If not for universal masking once we depart from our home every day, plus hand hygiene, Hong Kong would be like Italy long ago,” K.Y. Yuen, a Hong Kong microbiologist advising the government, told the Wall Street Journal last month.

“99 percent of the population put them on.”

“Experts now say widespread mask usage appears to be a major reason, perhaps even the primary one, why the city hasn’t been devastated by the disease.”

“If not universal masking once we depart from our home every day…Hong Kong would be like Italy,” said an expert government advisor.

These quotes illustrate how experts and their partners in the media have operated during COVID — present unproven claims with zero evidence, repeat them as stated fact, and use their assertions to enforce mandates based on appealing to their own (generally incompetent) authority.

We may never learn the motivations behind the great mask wearing shift in early 2020, when experts disregarded years of carefully collected pre-pandemic planning by recommending universal masking, but this article does provides a helpful explanation.

Many of them believed in propaganda.

“Not wearing masks in Hong Kong is like not wearing pants”

It’s important to highlight this quote from the Vox article, not just for the absurdity and horrifying ramifications of treating face masks as pants, but to illustrate just how dedicated the residents of the city have been to universal masking.

Almost every indoor environment has enforced masking, with what we’re told is strict societal enforcement:

As the Journal also noted, some taxi cabs and shops won’t let people inside unless they wear a mask. Someone walking around the city without a mask on invites harsh looks from passersby and even verbal reprimands. Even the public address system on Hong Kong’s metro asks riders to wear masks at all times.

So surely, SURELY if any jurisdiction on earth could achieve permanent elimination of COVID with masking, it would be Hong Kong.

Mask wearing is as ubiquitous as wearing pants, we’ve been told. Those who do not comply were shamed and barred from life as far back as May 2020, when many US states hadn’t yet mandated one of the most useless policies in world history.

Survey data has confirmed that mask usage has remained remarkably high and demonstrably consistent over time.

So has it worked?

Well, not exactly.

In just a matter of weeks, cases in Hong Kong rose from a daily average of 1 per million to 5,089 per million, an increase of 508,800%.

Mask compliance remained unchanged. The Science™ was wrong. The Experts™ were wrong. Even with perhaps the world’s most dedicated mask wearing populace, the numbers have exploded.

And unfortunately, it’s not just cases, deaths have risen to startling new highs:

Despite Twitter promoted nutritionist Eric Feigl-Ding asserting that Hong Kong’s masking and interventions illustrated how to “defeat COVID,” newly reported deaths there are nearly 4x higher than they’ve ever been in the US.

Oh, and you may recall how the expert microbiologist advising the Hong Kong government claimed that without universal masking, Hong Kong would be like Italy…

Deaths in Hong Kong are now 2.5x higher than they were in Italy’s first wave.

Surprisingly, Vox recently tried to explain how the numbers in Hong Kong and other Asian countries could have risen so rapidly — yet if you search the article for “masks,” these are the only result:

The United States is coming out of its deadliest phase of the pandemic and new Covid-19 cases are dropping sharply from their winter high. But more than 1,000 people in the US are still dying every day from the disease. Meanwhile, much of the country is relaxing requirements to wear face masks, testing is declining, and Covid-19 vaccination rates are leveling off. The US has not seen a wave of infections fueled by BA.2 just yet, but one may be looming.

How severe the next Covid-19 wave will be also hinges on how much the public is willing to take precautions, and many people are already putting masking and social distancing behind them. But as the pandemic has shown over and over, Covid-19 sets its own schedule.

Remarkable isn’t it?

This same outlet said universal mask wearing stopped COVID in its tracks and that universal mask wearing was the key, the most important factor in limiting the spread of the virus. And in their article describing how Asia is failing to control COVID despite universal masking, they predictably call for MORE masking.

It’s just relentless, endless gaslighting and propaganda.

While many have blamed Hong Kong’s low vaccination rate for the recent stunning increase in deaths, a look at their vaccination dashboard shows that 82% of the population 12 and up has been fully vaccinated, and 91.4% have had at least one dose:

The age specific breakdowns might provide better clues, although the fact that they report 100.32% of ages 40-49 have had at least one dose does not inspire confidence on their data collection:

The lower rates among those ages 80 and above might be one of the more significant factors, although according to the Press Secretary of the United States, “we don’t know” if COVID affects elderly individuals like President Joe Biden more severely than other age groups:

It’s certainly possible that increased vaccination rates among the extremely elderly would have helped Hong Kong, yet we’ve repeatedly been told that death rates in the US have passed other countries because not enough people have been vaccinated. A quick glance at vaccinations in the US by age group shows stunningly high uptake among elderly populations.

And the focus on vaccinations ignores the fact that during previous surges elsewhere, Hong Kong has been specifically praised for controlling COVID with mask wearing.

Why did that stop working?

Why doesn’t anyone care?

Why is Anthony Fauci calling for reinstating mask mandates even with the US’s apparently superior vaccination rates?

No matter where you look, mask wearing hasn’t mattered.

Hong Kong is the latest, and perhaps most severe example of this failure.

The mad rush to credit masking exemplifies the desire of media members and Twitter pundits to declare their allegiance to the correct set of ideological principles. The religious mantra of “believe in science” demands commitment to universal mask wearing, regardless of its unequivocal failure.

Hong Kong tried to control COVID with masking, and those same voices told us repeatedly that it was successful. Where were the retractions when then they subsequently reported one of the highest current death rates we’ve seen anywhere on earth?

While their cumulative rates remain lower than many European countries or the United States, COVID is not “over.” As we’ve heard repeatedly from Vox and the Twitter doctors who mindlessly maintain it’s “too soon” to lift mandates, the virus “sets its own schedule.”

Of course, they can’t mentally accept that it sets its own schedule, regardless of policy.
